Incredible Edible Gardens in a Box

Triangle -The Giggling Garden in a Box: Gardening Has Never Been Healthier, Easier, or More FunChapel Hill– Garden In The Koop is an idea that has been germinating with local entrepreneur, Laura Baldwin, for more than 25 years. This past month, her dream became a reality when the company, Garden In The Koop, launched its website with the goal of making gardening accessible to families everywhere. The company sells ‘Garden in a Box’ kits that include everything from heirloom or organic seeds, to soil, to step-by-step planting instructions.
“In this time of economic uncertainty, people across the country have been returning to the garden,” said Baldwin. “It allows one to grow food that is healthy and affordable, but importantly, time spent in the garden alone or with family is good for the soul. Being in the garden is therapeutic and a great way to connect with your children. We believe that our Garden Boxes will make gardening fun and help people learn to grow the garden they’ve always wanted.”

Located in Hillsborough, N.C., Garden In the Koop is grounded in green principles, priding itself on using heirloom and organic seeds, rather than the more common genetically modified seeds.

An idea that was hatched in a reclaimed, two-hundred-foot chicken house, on a historic farm, Garden In The Koop offers a unique line of gardening kits including the Giggling Garden, Heirloom Tomatoes, Here Comes the SUNflowers and Back to The Garden. Each “garden in a box” is packed, inspected and shipped from the chicken house.

“Our kits are great for those who want to add a few items to their garden, or just want to spend some quality time with their kids,” she said. “This is my passion and I want it to spread to as many people as possible. But I’m proud to start spreading the news in my own North Carolina community.”
